Job Description:
Crew will perform assessments of energy use and install energy saving devices such as programmable thermostats, low-flow showerheads, compact fluorescent light bulbs, and CO/Smoke detectors in LEAP (low-income energy assistance program) eligible homes in Colorado Springs and El Paso County. Crewmembers will also educate the home occupants on ways to save energy and teach them how to adjust and monitor temperatures on major home appliances.

Job Requirements:
•Must be between the ages of 18-24 and eligible for employment in the United States
•Must make a STRONG commitment to complete the program and participate fully.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and be comfortable talking with people of all ages and socio-economic situations.
•Must be detail-oriented and adept at basic math skills.
•Must be willing to uphold the images of both CLLYC and the AmeriCorps Program.
•Must be willing to work hard and be dedicated to the CLLYC philosophy.
•Must adhere to the CLLYC policy which prohibits the use of tobacco (any form), alcohol and illegal drugs while serving as an employee.
•Must pass criminal background check.
•Use of personal vehicle may be required. If so, we reimburse for mileage. And proper vehicle registration and insurance is mandatory.
