Job Description:
This position will be responsible for providing direct and indirect supervision of multi-needs students while transporting day or residential students to and from school and acting as a monitor on state vehicles or charter buses. In addition, this position will provide additional supervision for multi-needs students while on campus. Duties would include transporting students, driving state activity buses, vans and automobiles, acting as monitor in vehicles and on charter bus, assisting and supervising students in Learning Center and Visitor Station, helping students while in cottages, dining hall, recreation activities and management skills and leisure- recreational skills. This position will also be responsible for maintaining records, following and implementing procedures/policies and other assigned duties. Flexing schedule and being able to move from one area to another will be necessary to meet program needs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of the principles and practices of caring for handicapped children. Ability to understand and administer residential rules and procedures, record and respond to student behaviors, maintain records and exercise good judgment. Training and Experience Requirements Graduation from high school and two years of experience in age appropriate child care setting; or in a goaled program setting.
