Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.-Participates in unemployment hearings for terminated personnel.-Administer all aspects of and personal medical leaves.-Provides assistance to employees for benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.-Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.-Oversee the Cafeteria and Thrift Store operations maintaining a cost effective operation.-Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.-Coordinates various work life initiated programs such as Holiday events, employee appreciation activities, company anniversaries, etc.-Prepare Plant communications (newsletters, posters, bulletin boards, etc.)Supervisory Responsibilities Directly manage Human Resource Staff consisting of HR Supervisor, Thrift Store/Cafeteria Coordinator and Receptionist as well as an hourly part-time Cafeteria and Thrift Store staff of approximately 14 employees. Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies :-Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.-Project Management - Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.-Technical Skills.
