Brain Hurricane is a rapidly growing family company specializing in creating fun, hands-on learning curricula and deploying the curricula in after-school settings. We provide free (SES) tutoring to students on free and reduced lunch that attend schools in need of improvement. Responsibilities of the Chicago Director position Include developing and deploying enrollment strategies, managing enrollment, management, and instructional staff, and to ensure the high quality of the Brain Hurricane program in Chicago. The Chicago Director will report directly to the president of Brain Hurricane.
BRAIN HURRICANE is looking for candidates with energy; this position requires a capable individual to wear many different hats, and be a dynamic communicator with all stakeholders: principals, teachers, employees, parents, and students.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a car, a personal computer with a high-speed internet connection, and must both submit and pass federal and state background checks. This position will spend 60-70% of the time working from our Chicago office (1 East Erie St, 60611) and the remaining time working in the field in local Chicago schools.
Job Requirements: Required Skills: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) • Vested interest in working within urban schools • Demonstrate consistent logic and fair decision making skills • Maintains stable performance in challenging, high-pressure situations • Team-player: cooperates with supervisors and establishes collaborative relationships with peers • BA/BS degree • Ability to generate innovative solutions to problems • Team-player: cooperates with management and builds cooperative relationships with colleagues
Preferred Skills/Knowledge: • Fluency in Spanish • Professional program management experience • Experience with Classroom/Behavior management • Knowledge of SES and/or familiarity of school organizational structures • Graduate degree in education or business
Physical Demands: This job will require the employee to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and move materials between 10 and 30 pounds. Compensation: $80 - $120K depending on experience and education
