Job Description:
The incumbent reports directly to the Chief of the Field Assistance Division of the Center. Supervises between 8 and 14 Program and Training Specialists. Establishes and promotes an understanding of one or more of the sectors listed above, serving as an authoritative source of consultation for overseas staff and other managers and program specialists.The incumbent performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinates. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members; provides feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Provides advice, counsel, and/or instruction to staff members. Recommends or approves appointments, selections, or reassignments to positions appropriate to the selection authority delegated. Effects disciplinary measures as aprm the duties of the position. Examples are providing expert analysis and advice on complex program issues; managing special projects for major office or program issues of broad impact; or managing special cross cutting initiatives or task force groups to accomplish programmatic goals.
