Key Requirements: Work efforts involve design in connection with construction & supply contracts, contract mods and engineering design during construction and operation of projects to include: dams and appurtenant features, navigation locks, intake towers, tunnels, bridges, piping penstocks, fish handling facilities, project and visitor buildings, steel linings and gating, pile structures, retaining & slurry wall systems, power & communication services, electrical & mechanical components & services. Coordinates with power marketing administrations and federal agencies to resolve issues and controversial matters. Coordinates funding and tracks expenditures assuring completion within budget and schedule. Oversees operating budgets for branch. Initiates personnel actions and recommends organizational changes to maintain capabilityQualifications:Click on link below to view qualification standard. General Schedule SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:This position requires knowledge of personnel management and supervision of product managers, budget staff, and other support staff. The need to understand a broad range of engineering activities in geographically dispersed locations requires the ability to apply a variety of statutory, regulatory, funding and procedural controls in facilities engineering management. The incumbent will supervise senior engineers with responsibility to coordinate programs or projects for which they must be innovative and original. They will make continuing contact as engineering advisors and as the representative of their organization in interpreting and applying various engineering disciplines, planning, coordinating and policy requirements. A professional engineering license is required with engineering expertise concerning awards and other major aspects of design and construction work to be performed by engineers in the private sector.
