Job Description:
Provides direction, leadership, and expertise to functional subordinates in assigned area; including supervisor. * Ensures that subordinates are provided with the appropriate tools to successfully execute their responsibilities; develops the skills of subordinates through a combination of goal-setting, delegation, training, counseling, and performance management; recommends staffing levels; recommends and approves personnel actions such as hiring, firing, promotions, transfers, salary actions, and staff training; establishes and approves performance goals; conducts performance appraisal reviews; documents performance; recommends, executes and approves disciplinary action; manages design budget and approves expenses, payments and exceptions. * Interact with Training Design and Delivery Managers in other business lines and at the enterprise level to ensure consistency in implementation of compliance, training guidelines, design standards, measurements and assessment of training across the business unit. * Participate in special projects (e.g. acquisitions and new system rollouts) as assigned. Offer training expertise where needed to meet special project requirements. * Remain aware of academic trends and new methodologies in training. * Contribute to the banks achievement of controlled operating costs by assuring the effective use of resources within assigned training areas and continually examining methods for improvement.
