Job Description:
The person in this role is responsible for developing and communicating capacity analytics for the Company\'s global data center and network infrastructure, supporting Senior Business Management in the development and implementation of medium- and long-term capacity strategies, managing and optimizing Amazon.com's IT hardware purchases and lifecycle, and close coordination with internal customers generating the demand for IT infrastructure capacity. This position will be responsible for: ? Support effective decision-making through economic, financial and market analysis of critical issues, including capacity planning, price and cost modeling, and returns on investment. ? Coordinate the setting of corporate goals and ensure progress is accurately tracked. ? Support the capacity forecasting, budgeting and reporting efforts for operating expense, capital and resource allocation. ? Deliver on financial and infrastructure plans as agreed upon by management. Anticipate major changes early and ensure that plans keep up to date with business reality. ? Ensure delivery of actionable, accurate, and timely financial and business metrics. ? Design and coordinate the development of systems and tools to keep pace with the group\'s growing and rapidly changing businesses. ? Work closely with Treasury and IT to optimize Amazon's lease versus buy decisions for IT equipment. ? Work closely with IT and Procurement to optimize server and network purchases.
