Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES · Design and prepare track analysis as it relates to switch and interlocking installations. · Implement and Design projects for track component layouts and sustainable systems as they relate to tracks, culverts and tunnels. · Assist in the evaluation of future major maintenance and Capital programs which includes developing cost estimates. · Develop and implement project scope and planning schedules for in-house projects to perform work safely and efficiently, in compliance with Metro-North's Safety Program. · Direct subordinates in efficient use of budgeted resources and review allocation of personnel, materials and equipment for all project work. · Manage the coordination all work efforts on interdepartmental projects with various department managers to ensure maximum productivity and cooperation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · Strong knowledge of track layout analysis and the ability to design and analyze interlocking and switch systems and site planning which impact tracks, culvert and tunnels. · Strong knowledge of track structure and special track work, including repair, rehabilitation and construction of track and the materials and equipment associated with the work · Strong ability to analyze complex situation involving layout of switch and interlocking components and make quick and effective decisions.
