Job Description:
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: The Water Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises a general foreman, water service inspector and clerks, and indirectly supervises plumbers, backflow device testers, equipment operators, maintenance men, laborers, meter readers and meter installers. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee, plan, coordinate and supervise the activities of the water distribution and meter division. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the distribution system. Recommend and implement improvements to ensure the system provides adequate pressure and volume of water. Prepare and administer the division\'s budget. Oversee and approve all expenditures of the division. Monitor expenditures versus the approved budget. Prepare forecasts of expenditures to compare with available budget. Implement adjustments. Review plans of residential and commercial/industrial development with regard to proposed water distribution facilities. Participate in the development of and implement short and long-term capital improvements plans. Develop, maintain and implement written standard operating procedures, policies, employee training programs, emergency response plans, and safety programs to ensure efficient and safe operations for the maintenance and meter divisions. Ensure employee adherence. Develop, review, and approve construction standards, plans, and specifications for water distribution system improvements.
