Job Description:
Responsibilities Summary: Manage the maintenance and related improvements of roads, streets, and highways for the Operations and Maintenance Department. Supervise subordinates, schedule, assign, monitor and evaluate work performance. Establish goals, objectives, and action plans for the maintenance section and personnel. Define fiscal, human, information, and physical resources needed. Establish measurable quality and quantity standards for maintenance unit supervisors and other subordinates, and measure performance against these standards. Guide and direct maintenance work through oral and written instruction. Participate in interviewing and selecting job applicants, and orienting subordinates; make recommendations on personnel actions; review and approve maintenance payroll records. Analyze, identify and recommend maintenance and maintenance project changes; schedule construction and maintenance projects; review and recommend changes to construction contract documents; initiate change orders, supplemental agreements, and correspondence; finalize construction and maintenance projects for reporting or certification.
