Job Description:
a.) Responsible for the hot food production, as well as assisting in the monitoring of the cold food preparation, assuring safety, sanitation, quality and consistency standards are being followed.
b.) Perform all duties assigned by the Sous Chef. Maintain/enhance preparation and presentation guidelines for the conference center.
c.) Monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during meal periods.
d.) Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation and freezer pull.
Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
e.) Return all food items to designated areas, being sure to cover, label, date, and properly store all food items.
f.) Monitor and control the sanitation of the kitchen and equipment, as well as proper storage of all items, including rotating, covering, dating and labeling of all food items, thus maintaining a healthy and safe work environment which meets/exceeds federal, state
and corporate standards and regulations.
g.) Participate in cross-training for the different positions within the kitchen.
h.) Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
a.) High school education or equivalent experience.
b.) Minimum two-year food service experience. One year in related position,
with knowledge of soups and sauces.
c.) Requires ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment including, but not restricted to; deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill.
d.) Requires oral, reading and written communication skills.
