Job Description:
Responsible for plant and company goals by providing proactive, efficient, and reliable leadership for one to three shifts, seven day working environment. Independently performs all assignments after being given general instructions as to the results expected. Receives some technical guidance on very unusual or complex problems. Works closely with maintenance, engineering and / or manufacturing manager for proposed plans, strategy changes and new projects. May provide direct supervision and occasional labor support of activities on one or more shifts. Given clear understanding of expected results the manager will assume primary responsibility for undertaking and executing projects of major importance, complexity and scope. Completes all projects with emphasis on solution of the problems root cause. Expected to assume responsibilities where precedents does not exist, or for managing the development efforts of projects having a major impact on the company's current and/or future business needs. Responsibilities - Direct involvement in preparation, implementation, and adherence of the annual budget. - Control of direct, indirect and unit costs. - Provides leadership and participates during problem solving across areas / depts. / shifts. - Makes recommendations and champion solutions. These initiatives can involve people, product or equipment issues. - Coaches, directs, trains and develops supervisors to utilize available tools to advance. - Ensures that all members of the department are properly trained to develop a world class team supporting and enhancing efficient plant operations. Works with Supervisors to identify gaps in knowledge and establishes training resolution. - Coordinates and organizes the communication activities within and between the department and all other plant functions in such a manner as to meet the needs and objectives of operations.
