Job Description: Responsibilities: - Collaborate with City leaders and consultants to define benefits-related strategies and design benefit plans that provide the optimal balance between employee value and cost; evaluate the short-term and long-term impact on the quality and availability of employee health care benefits, the financial health of union administered health care funds and the financial health of the City. - Provide leadership in translating the strategies into deliverables and in communicating the benefits offerings to employees. - Manage benefit activities associated with design, development, oversight and administration of comprehensive benefit programs. - Review financial and utilization data and develop financial modeling options. - Manage the implementation and ongoing use of data mining technology solutions that integrate, analyze, and report on information from multiple sources to support health care management, health risk assessments and coordination of member-centered care interventions. - Revise, update, and maintain plan documents & summary plan descriptions, including coordination with benefits staff and Human Resources representatives on the interpretation and administration of ongoing and changing plan revisions.
