Job Description:
Center's involvement with analysis, design and installation of environmental restoration projects (hazardous, toxic, chemical warfare, ordnance, explosive wastes), water supply, sanitary & industrial waste treatment and disposal systems. Projects include development of pollution abatement & environmental restoration systems at Formerly Used Defense Site, Defense Logisticspecial environmental & sanitary engineering, water supply and waste disposal tasks supporting Corps of Engineers Headquarters. Projects include industrial facilities handling highly toxic and hazardous chemicals; metal working and materials handling facilities, demolition of potentially contaminated facilities, facilities for energy conversion & alternative fuels distribution, and protective structures/facilities to resist nuclear and conventional weapon effects Bachelor's Degree in professional engineering OR a combination of Education/Experience - college level education/experience that furnished (1) knowledge of physical/mathematical science underlying professional engineering & (2) understanding (theoretical/practical) of engineering sciences/techniques & applications to a branch of engineering. This must be demonstrated by (1) Professional Engineer Registration or (2) Written test or (3) Specific Academic Courses-60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, & engineering sciences or (4) Related Curriculum-Completion of bachelor's degree in engineering technology/professional field provided applicant has 1 year of professional engineering experience under professional engineering supervision/guidance. In addition to meeting basic requirements applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the YD-01 payband in the Federal service or equivalent quality level.
