Job Description:
Responsible for direction of the day-to-day operations of the department of pharmacy services and the fulfillment of all administrative functions of the facility regarding Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the mission of the hospital and the corporation. Plan, organize and direct all aspects of the hospital's pharmaceutical care goals including personnel management, safe medication practices, medication purchasing, ordering, dispensing, administration and monitoring. In addition, is physically and mentally capable of carrying out all functions of the staff pharmacist. Reports to Administration. In addition, the director is physically and mentally capable of carrying out all functions of the staff pharmacist. Possesses demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with coworkers and professional staff and the ability to set priorities which accurate reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. Ability to read and understand and interpret current scientific literature. Ability to effectively communicate orally on a one to one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to adopt a specific opinion or action.
