POSITION REQUIREMENTS1. Experience combined with demonstrated ability may be substituted for the degree.2. Certification: Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Alaska is required.3. Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience; experience in a variety of acute care clinical settings is preferred. Experience in a supervisory position is preferred or will be oriented to point of competency. Must have the ability to work efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands and short time frames. Demonstrates awareness of the importance of age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages in meeting each patient's unique needs for basic nursing care.4. Interpersonal: The ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with staff, hospital administration, medical staff, volunteers, representatives of the media and community agencies and other clientele is required.5. Physical: Must have ability to: tolerate long periods of sitting, walking or standing; read computer screen text; communicate verbally with individuals in person or on the telephone; read and write text; solve complex problems; and respond quickly to department or hospital emergencies. Must be able to assist others in moving, lifting and positioning patients. Must be able to read and interpret applicable diagnostic screens and hear and interpret Doppler and stethoscope sounds.
