Job Description:
The 36-bed adult Medical-Surgical Unit provides care for gynecology surgery, general surgery, and gastrointestinal medical and surgical, and palliative care patients. The Nurse Manager plans, coordinates, facilitates, integrates and evaluates patient care delivery in a high acuity setting. This individual promotes excellence based, unit-specific and organizational goals with a commitment to the Mayo Clinic mission and values. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24-hour clinical management accountability for the assigned area and generally 50 or more FTE's. Additional responsibilities include; fiscal and materials management; administrative responsibility for ensuring the quality of patient care and to serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. The Nurse Manager will also support nursing leadership through activities that include participation in committees, research and education.The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, flexible, creative and self directed individual with excellent communication and relationship skills.Requirements:- Current Compact State or Arizona registered nurse licensure required.- BSN required; Master's degree preferred.- 5-7 years recent clinical experience with 3 years of progressive management experience required.
