This position serves as the Assistant Director of Human Resources Department for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing all functions of the human resources programs athuman resources programs include staffing, classification; pay setting; recruiting; delegated examining; policy; human resource management systems; human capital reporting and planning; labor and employee relations; performance management; awards and recognition; on-and-off boarding; retirement counseling; training and development; and benefits. The PBGC has a workforce of nearly 900 full time equivalents, 450 which are covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Positions with known promotion potential do not guarantee promotion, nor is the promise of promotion implied. Key Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for all positions at PBGC. Major Duties: - Assists the Human Resources Director in managing and providing oversight with reference to staffing, skills assessment, position management and classification, pay setting, recruitment, delegated examining, policy, human resource management systems, benefits, human capital reporting and workforce planning, labor and employee relations, performance management; awards and recognition; on-and-off boarding, retirement counseling, and training and development. - Coordinates and ensures the operation of a human resource program that facilitates leadership in the recruitment, management, training and retention of a highly qualified and diverse workforce in pursuit of HRD goals and objectives and in the interest of employee development. May be required to participate in the development of a human resources strategy.
