Job Description:
The incumbent develops project plans for specification, procurement, installation, implementation, and the successful transition to manufacturing. He or she develops the necessary financial, productivity, and technical analysis to generate the pressing arguments necessary to convince senior management to fund the proposed program. The incumbent manages the project by directing a cross functional project team of internal personnel and contractors and therefore requires strong multidisciplinary engineering skills. He or she prioritizes tasks and tracks performance relative to plan including costs, milestones, and schedule. The incumbent is intimately familiar with the project plan and technical project management yet is strong technically and recognizes when the project is off-track requiring corrective actions to meet program objectives. He or she initiates a corrective action plan and informs management of the necessary steps and resources required to get the project back on track. He or she provides the technical leadership to the team and requests support from internal departments and outside consultants as needed. This includes but is not limited to the offices of Engraving, Technical Support, Product Development Center, Security Technology, Production Support, Production Management, Currency Production, Facilities Support, and Environmental, Health and Safety. The incumbent manages the systems development (either internal or external) which may include selection of, and, managing outside vendors and has the technical where with all to ensure timely project completion with minimal risks.Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related. Examples include: Development of project plans for specification, procurement, installation, implementation, and successful transition to manufacturing, develop and manage projects, and provide technical leadership in addition, a combination of education/experience may be qualifying.
