Project Engineer to work in our Public Works Division in the company’s Topeka, Kansas headquarters facility. This division has 25 employees, and provides public works engineering services to municipalities and counties including the city of Topeka and surrounding areas in the following: 1. Street improvements 2. Drainage studies 3. Wastewater collection 4. Water distribution 5. Water treatment 6. Drainage improvements 7. Traffic studies 8. Traffic signal improvements 9. Corridor studies for roadways 10. Sanitary sewer evaluation studies 11. Public involvement/education plans 12. Water system evaluations Responsibilities of this position include the design engineering work on the municipal wastewater treatment and industrial wastewater projects. Usually these projects involve work on wastewater collection and treatment facilities with groundwater contamination issues, piping systems or pumping facilities. Typical work includes: 1. Plan and design engineering work in wastewater treatment facilities. 2. Act as part of a team of professionals headed by a Project Manger on one or more projects. 3. Interact with team members on the project and be able to conduct analyses relative to the project assigned. 4. Must be able to devise new solutions to problems encountered, and may receive technical guidance for extremely unusual or complex problems. 5. May interact with clients and/or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work on a portion of a project. 6.
