Job Description: The incumbent performs the administrative and human resources management functions relative to the staff supervised. Defines and forecasts long and short-range staffing requirements and develops recruitment strategies to fill positions, and provides interpretation and assistance on the agency\'s Merit Promotion program. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Observes workers\' performance; demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques. Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance. Resolves informal complaints and grievances. Develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary. Provides advice and counsel to workers s and approves or disapproves leave requests. Assures that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations. Classifies jobs and prepares necessary documentation for positions covered by the Federal Wage System (FWS) and / or General Schedule (GS) classification and job grading systems in organizations predominantly made up of a variety of professional, specialist, journeyman trades, and / or administrative positions and related supervisory jobs. Determines the degree of regulatory compliance, classification accuracy, and other classification program requirements for a significant organizational segment of an agency, such as a regional office, Center, or major field installation.
