Job Description:
The Dental Hygienist's key responsibility is the preventive care of patients treated at the TDF at Fernald in Waltham. This includes but is not limited to: Scaling, root planing, nutritional and plaque control counseling, and prophylaxis; Developing, implementing and monitoring disease prevention and promotion of oral health for the Tufts Dental Facilities. All duties are subject to the provisions allowed by the Massachusetts Dental Practice Act. Basic Requirements: Vocational /Technical training or an Associates Degree with up to 1 year of related experience. Must have a MA Dental Hygiene License or MA Dentist License. Familiarity with dental software, email and Microsoft Word. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred with 1 - 3 years related experience. Experience in the treatment of patients with special health care needs, specifically patients with cognitive and developmental deficits.
