Position: Staff Level Environmental Engineer (Site Investigation & Remediation)
Industry: Environmental Consulting Professional Services
Office Location: Mountain View or Emeryville, California
Compensation: $60,000 to $75,000 annual salary plus generous bonus and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays, etc.
Twenty year experienced Environmental Science, Engineering, and Management Consulting firm; highly respected as a trusted provider of cost effective environmental services for both the private and public sector; actively seeks mid level Staff Environmental Engineer to join either our Mountain View or Emeryville, California branch office.
The ideal Staff Environmental Engineer candidate will have two to three years of experience in environmental engineering report preparation, regulatory compliance, O&M of treatment systems, remediation system design, construction oversight; and field sampling. Engineer must be able to thrive within a team or independent oriented work environment.
Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering (may be civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering). EIT certification is preferred. As Staff Environmental Engineer you will interact with staff, clients, potential clients, and regulators to achieve project successful completion. Must be hard working, detail oriented, and self-motivated. Ideal candidates will have good verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Essential duties of this Staff Environmental Engineer position may include but are not be limited to:
Coordinating, troubleshooting and otherwise supporting the operation and maintenance activities on several remediation treatment systems at various sites.
Assisting with the design and/or implementation of pilot tests and full-scale projects for several remediation technologies including pump-and-treat, in-situ bioremediation, in-situ chemical oxidation, monitored natural attenuation, SVE, venting, etc.;
Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and senior oversight as necessary/required in making adaptations and modifications;
Ensuring installations, pilot tests, remediation/restoration projects, and field activities are implemented to specified standards, workplans, and permits;
Coordinating and/or conducting air, soil, and ground water, and treatment system sampling;
Interpreting analytical results to ensure regulatory/permit compliance and evaluate remediation progress;
Supporting mechanical, electrical, and conveyance systems installation and systems troubleshooting;
Performing QA/QC for remediation field work by environmental technicians; and
Preparing regulatory reports.
