Director of Catering & Conference Services

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for selling and strategy of luxury property as it pertains to sales of corporate and social catering, as well as conventions. Knowledge of all market segments (South Florida, Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Latin America, Europe, etc.). Focus Catering & Conference Service efforts as it relates to seasonal, shoulder and off seasonal periods. Experience in forecasting, networking including establishing comp rates and overall leadership of staff. Proven track record of meeting and/or exceeding previous P&L goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

" Position to be responsible for Catering & Conference Services department

" Management experience of staff in a Director role is a requirement

" Experience with independent / non-franchised golf & spa LUXURY resorts (i.e. Turnberry, Boca Resort, etc..) is required, as it relates more effectively to position and profile

" Candidates in much larger luxury properties who are presently in an Associate Director's role would be considered

" Expertise in Social Catering in all market segments is essential with candidates prepared to give detailed examples of such including Destination Packages

" Meeting planner organizations they have worked the closest with which represent significant group bookings, opportunities for the company profile.

" Strategy for analyzing current clients and developing tools for untapped company business

" Candidates should be prepared and provide examples of sales strategies and overall achievements of past DOC experience, including meeting & exceeding P&L budgets, training of staff, procurement of new business, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

" Achieve set monthly department goals

" Incentive programs and /or bonus teams for department

" Strong negotiation skills and ability to analyze market and develop new business

" Ensure rates/prices and minimums committed are competitive and offer highest yield for the hotel to ensure maximum profitability

" Solidify and maintain relationships with assigned accounts through regular sales visits, client entertainment, agency/office receptions, site inspections and repeated follow-up.

" Develop creative ideas to ensure maximum revenues and client satisfaction

" Food and beverage revenue responsibilities.

" Responsible for the coordination of all VIP amenities for corporate/social events.

" Conduct pre-event and post-event meetings with clients.

" Fluent in both Spanish and English

" Reports to the Asst. GM

EXPERIENCE

" Minimum of five years Catering Sales and Conference/Management experience in a luxury hotel property/resort

SALARY

" Base salary $90k - $100k annually

" Bonus potential based on goals and revenue
