The Department is also responsible for the control and reporting of capital expenditures and the reporting of Corporate expenses against budget.Principle Duties and Responsibilities: This position will be the primary liaison between Corporate Accounting and the SBU\'s/departments. Responsibilities include answering any US GAAP questions of the SBU\'s/departments, establishing and communicating policies and procedures, maintaining open, active lines of communications between Corporate and the SBU\'s/departments, writing position papers and interpreting new and existing US GAAP. The position will have ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of accounting related to complex areas (e.g., restructuring, executive-based compensation, etc.) This position will also be responsible for supervising and developing up to two direct reports, GAAP research and undertake accounting related to more complex areas. Other responsibilities of this position will include special projects, on an as needed basis, assistance with the creation of the annual report, publishing a quarterly accounting and finance newsletter, assistance with the GAAP training of accounting associates and the review of various monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and other work papers. Required Skills: Qualifications: Bachelor's or higher level Degree in Accounting CPA7 or more years of relative professional experience includingApplication and interpretation of GAAP to multi-fact scenarios Authoring of position papers as to appropriate accounting treatment Preparation/review of financial statements and/or footnotes Flexible work schedule and willingness to work through completion of a projectProficient with Microsoft Excel.
