Job Description:
Set annual objectives. Be accountable for driving improvement (see 3).3. Lead the appropriate team through the process to select suppliers that provide improved value (quality, service, cost). Negotiate and assist in the implementation of contracts. Provide economic analysis to support implementation.4. Develop and implement annual performance plans for each supplier under management.5. Develop and maintain a broad understanding of assigned categories.6. Collaborate with all Corporate and Business Unit Materials Management staff to ensure that all BUs are in conformance to initiatives to maximize contractual leverage.7. Track and manage saving targets with corresponding business analyst to ensure that savings are recorded correctly.8. Build relationships with all assigned users to ensure that rigorous purchasing policies (to Company standards) are understood and implemented.9. Lead or assist with other Procurement initiatives as required.10. Negotiate supplier agreements11. Contribute to the ongoing development of a world-class Procurement function at Quest Diagnostics.Supervision Exercised: No direct supervisory responsibilities, but dotted line supervisory responsibilities in support of Commodity teams.Qualifications:Education Preferred: BA/BS in business, economics or a scientific discipline, or the equivalent in education and experience. Advanced degree (MBA/MS) helpful.Work Experience: At least 7 years experience in selection, implementation and management of supplier contracts, with demonstrated results (cost, quality, service improvement).
