Job Description:
The primary concern of incumbent in this position is to oversee production employees engaged in Assembly, Winding, and Molding in order to effectively and safely drive production schedules. They may also be expected to provide direction/support to other supervisory staff. Qualified candidates will ideally possess five to eight years supervisory experience in a cabling / winding manufacturing environment for military applications and possess a customer first attitude. Position also requires administrative skills in dealing with a wide range of problems including proficiency on related administrative systems (Labor Tracking, Production Planning/Shop Floor Control, Time & Attendance.) The successful functioning of the department depends on astute placing of personnel, proper utilization of equipment, being ever alert for new methods of operation and maintaining harmonious relations within the department while ensuring a safe environment, discipline, rewarding/employee recognition and reporting or related metrics. The knowledge of manufacturing operations from raw stage to finished product is very desirable. This requires some proficiency in soldering, cabling, braiding, cable assembly, metals and plastics as well as machining, molding and inspection operations. A solid background in the quality assurance fundamentals is essential. Also, the individual must be knowledgeable of ISO and customer quality requirements. Manage manpower schedules, overtime and vacations to ensure effective utilization of personnel, equipment and materials within budgets. Provide proper training and development to ensure functions are performed by qualified employees and employees are developed to their fullest potential. The incumbent is responsible to maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment consistent with established policies and procedures. The incumbent will select and oversee training of employees of own group; and appraise performance; take disciplinary action and recommend dismissal as necessary.
