Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES middot Conduct and supervise GIS activities primarily in the MapInfo or ESRI platforms including spatial analysis of business opportunities and programming/customization of mapping deliverables middot Coordinate the development, management and maintenance of databases (including but not limited to FCC licenses, market demographics, and competitive lists), spatial data warehouses and repositories middot Analyze the geographical component of the business data (build plans, search rings, and tower portfolios) to reveal trends, patterns, and opportunities by combining this information with sales data, demographics, competitor locations, and geographic data middot Develop and distribute deliverables that illustrate/report findings and recommendations including but not limited to Carrier Footprint Analysis, Consolidation Analysis, Competitive Analysis and Business Activity Analysis middot Assist in analyzing competitor and customer activity (financial and operational) and technology needs for use in targeted marketing and/or sales strategies. Conduct ongoing/ad hoc reporting/mapping of market, competitive, or customer data to identify specific industry trends, opportunities and issues middot Research new developments and applications in GIS middot Plan and coordinate the acquisition of related data and software middot Work with the IT department to ensure all mapping software meets GIS data standards and functionality Participate in customer calls and attend customer meetings as required Serve as the main resource for mapping requests for all operational, sales and corporate units at American Tower OTHER middot Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES middot Supervise and manage the performance of GIS Analysts QUALIFICATIONS Must be proficient in MapInfo, ESRI and Access Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, HTML, Map Basic, Visual Basic and the ability to design and manage multiple databases and data warehouses Must have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Must have superior customer service skills as well as the ability and experience handling multiple and difficult requests in a deadline-driven environment Experience working with other functional groups like Sales, Operations and IS Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to exercise independent discretion on matters of significance.
