Job Description:
This producer will collaborate with production, programming, and other departments on the creation of original content for TV, cable, online, and various other existing and emerging media for an organization committed to local production. Subject matter will include the arts, education, healthcare, the environment, and local and state government. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Proven editorial, creative and management skills are essential, along with an appreciation for and vision of how multiple public media platforms can meet community needs and exceed viewer/user expectations. Understanding of emerging technologies for content delivery will be an added asset. Vision should include knowledge of any and all technology and media tools to create a public media service combining elements of national production, outreach, local programming, and content for the web. QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Must be computer literate, using Word, Excel, other Microsoft programs such as Project, and other project tracking software. 2. Organizational and multi-tasking skills for managing diverse projects simultaneously. 3. Able to work effectively with other project team members to meet deadlines. 4. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal. 5. Strong writing, reporting, and interview skills 6. Video production experience: shooting, editing, lighting. 7. Computer research and library skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Journalism Degree required BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS: Success as a member of the team at KNPB requires specific business, people, team-building and team-playing skills. Among them: 1. Business - Focuses on long-term health of the station while successfully executing short-term activities. - Thinks independently, takes risks to improve station, doesn't rest on laurels. - Analyzes all activities, weighing service, priorities and financial impact both short-term and long-term. 2. People Skills - Is interactive, accessible, and supportive of all station personnel and constituents.
