Job Description:
Manage a personal major gifts portfolio of individual prospects. Devise individual strategies to cultivate and solicit these prospects and maintain an active schedule of contact with them. Travel when and where necessary; involve and staff the Dean and other faculty or staff as appropriate. Develop, implement, and run a comprehensive individual giving program during a major campaign. Increase the number of individual contacts made by field fundraisers and the Dean; increase the number of major gift solicitations and overall capital, endowment, and annual commitments made; increase discretionary support to the Law Fund; increase the number of multi-year reunion pledges and overall reunion totals; enhance the work done by volunteer committees; ensure adequate regional representation and contact; and hire, train, and motivate field staff. Set ambitious goals for major, annual, and planned giving programs, in consultation with the Associate Dean. Motivate staff to achieve these goals. Track and assess progress and assume ultimate responsibility for results. Manage and motivate volunteers for SLS. Assume primary responsibility for the work of Campaign Steering Committee volunteers, architecting their cultivation and solicitation work. In partnership with the Director of Development, help to plan the meetings and work of the Dean's Advisory Committee. Monitor and oversee the recruitment and work of other lead development volunteers, including the National Chair(s) for the Law Fund and the National Chair for Reunion Giving. In consultation with the Dean and Associate Dean, recruit, manage, and report to lead volunteers.
