Job Description: In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors, provide leadership for individual, corporate and foundation fundraising to achieve development goals. Prepare and implement long range and annual development plans. Establish and manage an individual major gifts program as a primary priority. Also evaluates and develops programs of planned giving, annual fund, foundation grants, corporate sponsors, and fundraising events. Manage Board of Directors activities related to fundraising. Staff Board Development Committee. Identify potential contributors to special project funds and ongoing operations through examination of past records, individual and corporate contracts, and knowledge of community. Working with the communications program, develop fundraising print and electronic materials. Develop donor stewardship/recognition program. Research private grant agencies and foundations to identify and solicit potential sources of funding for research, community service, or other projects. Implement and oversee management of donor database. Supervise and coordinate gift entry and acknowledgment processes. Establish development policies, procedures and systems. Prepare, monitor and administer department budget. Represent the organization externally.
