The committed lawyers at DRA successfully pursue nationwide class action lawsuits to improve the daily lives of people with disabilities in all areas of life including health care and insurance, employment, education, housing, transportation and recreation. Founded 15 years ago, we have grown to a staff of 25 with a budget of $2.5 million. This is an exciting job with a wonderful group of people. After 12 years of successful fundraising , our current Development Director is retiring. DRA is looking for an experienced Development Director who can effectively carry out our overall fundraising strategy. This includes: expanding our donor base, annual appeals, obtaining grants from foundations and corporations, and planning small donor cultivation events annually as well as a large fundraising event once every three-five years. The Development Director will be responsible for maintaining and building relationships with our existing donors as well as cultivating new major donors. Additional responsibilities will include working with law students to apply for legal fellowships. The Director of Development will report directly to the Executive Director and regularly interact with the Board of Directors. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s degree required, Advanced degree preferred. Five or more years of success in the development field.
