Job Description:
Director of Student Life is a full-time professional live-in staff member who manages the daily operations and community development of one of our residence halls while serving in a collateral assignment within Campus Life. Remuneration, in addition to salary, includes an on-campus apartment, a meal plan, and along with professional development funding, a reserved parking space, cable, local phone, voice mail, and an office with computer/internet access. Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred in a student affairs or higher education related program) and have 1-3 years experience working in Student Affairs (preferably in residence life). The Assistant Director of Student Life facilitates student interaction and provides opportunities for students’ growth and development by performing the following: Coordinate activities to develop an environment that meets residents’ needs Develop program objectives and responsibilities among staff Meet with students regarding possible violation(s) of college policies Develop formal and informal relationships with students Advise Residence Hall Council Supervise, train and evaluate the staff in the hall Serve as part of AD On Call system to address immediate campus concerns Serve in a collateral assignment with various functions of Campus Life as needed. Upon this assignment, the Dean of Students will set the parameters of scheduling in conjunction with the area assigned.
