This position reports to the Director of Academic Services. Responsibilities and duties:- Serve as academic advisor for Bachelor/Master students, assist in supervision of part time advisors - Assist in providing tutorial and/or counseling assistance when necessary - Assist with new student orientation and new student registration- Gather data and provide statistical analysis related to student retention and attrition- Must be able to represent and articulate the interests of students and the Advising Office in a variety of institutional meetings and discussions.Qualifications and Requirements:- Bachelor's degree required. Masters in Student Development or related field preferred - 1-3 years of full-time experience in student affairs- Must be able to work some evenings- Must be able to speak clearly and understand spoken communication- Must be flexible in terms of other duties and responsibilities requiredStandards of Professionalism:Team and Interpersonal Skills: Success in this position requires positive relationships with other team members including support staff and more senior staff. These persons must thus be approached in a way that makes them feel valued as individuals and team members and takes into account the necessities of work as seen from their perspective.Service orientation: Success in this position requires a service-oriented perspective in which, to the greatest extent possible, students and faculty are treated in such a way as to feel valued and well served in their contacts with the school through you.
