This is a 12-month administrative position that requires dual-campus and occasional evening and weekend responsibilities and reports to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. Duties and Responsibilities: Convene and coordinate a Student Academic Success and First Year Experience Leadership TeamCollaborate with colleagues across the campus to insure the full implementation of an integrated First Year Experience program that supports the academic and personal success of first year students Administer the implementation and expansion of First Year Courses and Learning CommunitiesProvide leadership for the Academic Advising Center Convene and coordinate a Community Based Learning Task Force Develop and implement programs to foster a sense of academic community among new students. Continue to develop the Early Alert System to identify and contact at-risk first year studentsCreate partnerships with and among first-year and SAS programsWork closely with Student Life, Financial Aid, Supplemental Instruction, and Admissions to ensure a steady flow of welcoming communication with the new first year studentsTeach in first year programs and disciplinary courses when appropriateWork with the Office of Institutional Planning and Research to develop and implement assessment strategies that demonstrate student learning outcomesOther duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum of a Master's degree. Doctorate preferredA minimum of three years administrative and supervisory experience requiredPrior academic post-secondary advising required Teaching experience required; teaching in First Year Experience courses and/or General Education courses preferred.
