Job Description:
This internship is an opportunity for human and veterinary pathology residents to rotate through the pathology department of a biotechnology company. Pathology interns will have the opportunity to read preclinical study slides, write reports, interact with basic researchers, attend relevant meetings and seminars, and learn about the drug development process from discovery research to clinical trials. The Department of Pathology at Genzyme works in multiple disease areas including metabolic disease, oncology, cardiovascular disease, immunology, endocrinology, osteoarthritis and others. Internships will generally run from 2 to 4 months in duration, depending on arrangements with the applicant's residency program director. Educational requirements: Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from a four-year college and a medical (MD) or doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited four-year medical college and be enrolled in an accredited Pathology residency program at a participating academic hospital.
