The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an opportunity available for a Director of Medical Billing within the department of Medicine, located on our Medical Campus. This individual will be assisting the Director of Patient Financial Services in billing, collections and accounts receivable of professional fees generated by the faculty of the Department of Medicine. The director of Billing will be responsible for the day to day operations of the billing office such as entry of charges, payment posting, collections and reimbursements. Also responsible for the continued development and training of staff on the IDX system, billing and reimbursement guidelines, managed care contracts and third party reimbursement. Additionally, individual will assist with budgetary functions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and minimum five years of effective and relevant work experience is required. Working knowledge of HIPPA and federal and state regulations pertaining to billing and reimbursement is essential. Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem solving skills.
