Job Description:
The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience in the financial aid office of an institution of comparable or larger size, and be equipped to show leadership in financial aid and manage the daily tasks required, including: · Collecting required student aid information. · Processing and packaging student financial aid. · Maintaining an automated financial aid data base in our Student Information System (SIS). · Assuring compliance with all financial aid federal requirements and regulations. · Updating and reporting to NSLDS and other organizations on a regular basis. · Working with the SIS Team to ensure proper data flow and accuracy. Knowledge of the Financial Aid functions of a Student Information System is a critical requirement for this position, and particular knowledge of Comspec’s Empower software is a plus. The National Financial Aid Director will also serve as a vital part of the SIS management team, along with representatives from the Information Technology, National Registrar and Admissions Departments, and reports to the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. HUC-JIR is a four campus system with facilities in Cincinnati, New York, Los Angeles and Jerusalem, with a student body numbering approximately 400 full-time students. HUC-JIR trains rabbis, cantors, educators, communal service professionals and is open to those of various faiths through our School of Graduate Studies, our Graduate Studies Programs and, in particular, our Doctor of Ministry Program.
