Job Description:
The candidate will assist the director of nursing in the planning, organization, direction, supervision and evaluation of all the nursing services provided in the facility. Ensures nursing department compliance with federal, state and local regulations and implementation of nursing core programs. Ensures maintenance of records and reports concerning resident care. Ensures the orientation and training of nursing personnel. Manages the nursing personnel on designated units and manages overall nursing personnel in the absence of the director of nursing. Manages designated unit (s) within budget. Lifting and/or transferring some residents will require use of a lifting device and /or assistance of other staff. Plans, organizes, directs, supervises, and evaluates nursing personnel on designated units to achieve desired clinical and financial outcomes. Ensures designated units are in compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards. Ensures compliance with accreditation requirements where applicable. Complies with physician visits. Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing are available for the delivery of the prescribed resident/patient care. Completes rounds of designated units at least daily to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations. Ensures each resident's/patient's RAI/IPOC process is carried out on a timely basis. Is responsible for recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling, evaluating and personnel issues on designated units. Manages the designated units within budget. Works with the director of nursing to continuously improve the quality of resident/patient care.
