The position has primary appointment in the Clinical Diagnostics/Early Clinical Development division of the Development organization. The Clinical Scientist will have the opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary diagnostic development teams to discovery and validate diagnostics in immunology and other related medical fields and integrate them into clinical development and post-marketing programs. Responsibilities:This candidate must be able to develop strategies for evaluating novel biomarkers and technologies as potential predictive companion diagnostics for disease areas and specific molecule programs; to build internal alignment on this strategy, obtain approval and secure sustainable resources to implement it; and to design and oversee implementation of clinical trials with primary endpoints related to understanding of disease pathogenesis and development of diagnostic assays. This person must also provide expert advice to other clinical teams for the optimal design and conduct of clinical trials with diagnostics or biomarker endpoints. This position is a significant leadership role and the individual must lead a diagnostics development team focused on rheumatology as well as provide oversight and guidance for clinical scientist leading diagnostics development teams in several disease areas. Requirements:MD (or non-US equivalent) or MD/ PhD, preferably board certified in pediatrics or internal medicine, as well as training in a subspecialty area.Experience in multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and/or other autoimmune/inflammatory diseases will be of value in this position.
