This position will have responsibility for purchasing production supplies and equipment to support a Nutrition Center. Key responsibilities include: · Coordination of all e orders through food and produce suppliers · Acts as a negotiator and liaison between all suppliers, brokers and manufacturing representatives, the schools and food service management. · Analyzing product costs and making recommendations for product mixes /selection · Analyze all commodity products and commodity processed products available through the USDA · Works in conjunction with a dietitian menu planner to ensure proper utilization of commodities · Auditing and reporting of USDA commodities Qualifications A successful candidate will possess: · A Bachelor degree and /or relevant work experience · At least 2 years of procurement experience with 3-5 years of food service or restaurant management experience. · Prior experience in high volume purchasing · Experience in Commodity management · Strong time management skills
