Job Description:

The system provides early detection and tracking during the boost phase, midcourse target discrimination, precision intercept and destruction of inbound Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles through force of hit-to-kill technology. Extensive ground and flight tests have demonstrated the system's successful performance against long-range ballistic missile targets. This position is for an entry-level network security engineer supporting the GMD program within the Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) / Program Protection and Security (PP&S) team. Entry-level responsibilities under the guidance of senior engineers include the following: Conduct Information Assurance (IA) risk assessments, assess and recommend cost-effective risk-mitigating IA countermeasures, analyze proposed network configurations for security vulnerabilities, assess potential risks associated with externally connected systems, recommend policy and procedural mitigations for identified risks and coordinate security Authority To Connect (ATC) recommendations with Govt customer and Certification/Designated Approval Authorities following the Govts DOD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Program (DIACAP) and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) processes. Will be required to present IA requirements, design, and implementations at working groups and other technical forums. Works under close supervision.
