Job Description:
NIH guidelines for research involving recombinant DNA molecules (2002) and the CDC/NIH biosafety in microbiological and biomedical laboratories, 5th edition; experience developing and managing an active institutional biosafety committee and biological research registration, review, and approval program; significant experience managing personnel and projects; excellent judgment and ability to see the big picture; attention to detail; exemplary communication skills including ability to write clearly and concisely, interact effectively within a wide constituency, and participate in negotiation and dispute resolution; and ability to develop and implement creative solutions to unusual problems. Certification as a biological safety professional or eligibility for certification highly desirable, but CIHs, CPEAs, and CSPs may be acceptable alternatives. Seek self-motivated individual who can work both independently and as a team member. Superior computer skills (Microsoft Office) needed. Must be able to participate in an emergency on-call program.
