Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Review student financial accounts including assessing University charges, posting of payments and collections, error detection and correction, and authorizing through University policies cancellation or discount of charges. Supervise the functions and operations of the Student Financial Services office including maintaining adequate staffing levels, scheduling and supervising workloads to meet critical deadlines and ensuring timely processing. Designs, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of financial services communication tools including: · Brochures and handouts · Mass e-mails · SFS web pages · Bulletin boards Assumes accurate and timely reporting responsibility for: · Preparing quarterly financial reports for the CFO. · Maintaining statistical data for reports and audits. · Department of ED - Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP) · Annual surveys as directed by the Registrar · National Clearinghouse student enrollment reports Attends professional conferences and meetings to maintain knowledge of operations, policies, laws, and regulations. Develops and manages annual budgets for Student Financial Services office. Interacts with auditors, participates in auditing projects, and/or provides information and access to student financial records as required. Understanding of the strategic use of financial aid in support of the University's enrollment efforts. Represents the University both internally and externally to government agencies, funding agencies, students, and/or the general public. Recommends and participates in the development of University policies and procedures; may serve on university planning and policy-making committees. Establishes and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement. Directs, monitors and evaluates the performance of the Student Financial Services staff.
