Job Description:
The Vice President of Finance will report to the Executive Vice President,Corporate Operations/Chief Financial Officer.Principal responsibilities include:' Formulates and directs the financial policy and plans of the Association' Directs and monitors the preparation of the annual budget of the National Center totaling approximately $250 million' Oversees the annual audit of the National Center and the Association' Directs budgets and controls the administrative affairs of the Office of Finance (National Center and Affiliate Financial Services)' Directs and monitors appropriate accounting policies and practices and the development/distribution of financial reports' Manages the Master Insurance Plan' Monitors the National Center Pooled Investments, treasury function, and cash management to maximize cash flow and investment earnings' Monitors compliance with external accounting rules and regulations Qualified candidates must have a B.A. degree in Finance or Accounting, at least 8 years of finance and management experience and CPA certification. Knowledge of finance department operations, the audit process, performance appraisal and mutual objective setting processes/concepts is required. Must also be well versed in FASB accounting and reporting principles and have knowledge of and proficiency in financial/accounting applications, software packages and spreadsheets. Strong leadership, planning, execution, consultation, training and oral/written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and volunteers are a must. Non-profit experience is helpful, but not required.
