Job Description: Software Configuration Manager Location: South Denver, CO (DTC) Type: Full Time Compensation: DOE Must have skills: ANT and CVS. PURPOSE: The Configuration Manger is responsible for configuring the quality assurance and user assurance testing environments to support test plans and testing strategies for the IT Delivery team. In this role you will move software from development into testing environments, load databases, run batch jobs for testing scenarios, set securities, and ensure that software and processes are well tested before going to production. Major Responsibilities include (other duties may be assigned): • Perform application configuration and build management • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve automated application build systems and processes • Manage the coordination and administration of configuration management activities • Formulate procedures for and execute the introduction of changes to documents • Monitor the review of released change data and change accounting activities to ensure adherence to configuration management procedures and policies • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget • Act as an advisor to the IT team regarding projects, tasks, and operations • Learn and become an expert in the technologies used to build, test, and deploy software • Devise innovative solutions for refining and automating existing and new processes • Review, update, and maintain the SCM Methodologies and the software & hardware requirements • Qualify new patches & updates for SCM environment • Work closely with project DBAs, Developers, and Testers • Maintain the daily build environments and build scripts • Administer the Source Control and Defect Tracking tool • Schedule CM project tasks & crate weekly status reports • Create training documentation and provide training sessions on installation process Required Skills/Competencies to perform the job successfully: • Candidate must have strong working knowledge of version control systems, in particular CVS • Candidate must have excellent scripting skills and strong working knowledge of ANT • Candidate must be able to perform branches and merges and have experience with • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others • Ability to work effectively across organizational and geographical boundaries • In depth understanding of Corporate and/or IT Governance structures, methodologies, and processes • Ability to complete assignments on time with a high degree of quality Education/Experience: • Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • This position requires a candidate possessing at least 5 years experience in a configuration management role • At least 5 years experience with version control systems, scripting languages, and UNIX commands • Experience loading databases and setting securities • Experience with build management and application configurations
Working Environment: • Fast-paced environment • Moderate travel required
