As a Web Developer for Cipher Systems, one of North America's largest competitive intelligence consulting and technology firms, you will assist with our growing and dynamic business. A web developer for Cipher is part of a creative and talented team that works with household name clients in multiple industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, engineering, and telecommunications, as well as the federal government. Our product Knowledge.Works, an enterprise knowledge management software system, is award-winning and well-regarded in our industry and is managed by our Web Developer team.

As such, our web developer team often has time out of the office visiting clients on site. You will play an active part in client satisfaction and product innovation as a web developer. We are not looking just for a web developer but an original thinker and creative type who wants to push intellectual as well as development skills. As an Independent Service Vendor, our developers are able to work with cutting edge software and be part of a commercially fielded application. We work closely with clients, resulting in very minimal travel (typically 5 to 10% or less of your time).
Job Requirements:
Web Developer Qualification Requirements: 2 - 4+ years of practical experience with .NET Framework (ASP.NET 1.1 & 2.0, ADO.NET), traditional Active Server Pages (ASP), HTML, Dynamic HTML, CSS1, JavaScript and VBScript. Successful candidate will also have experience using the Visual Studio and Visual SourceSafe development tools. Candidates must have a firm grounding in Object Oriented Programming and be able to hand-code web pages (without the use of tools such as Dreamweaver, Homesite, or Visual InterDev).
At least one year practical experience with one or more of the following is considered a plus: writing T-SQL for SQL Server 2000, writing PL-SQL for Oracle 9i, Perl scripting, COM/COM+ development using Visual Basic 6, programming with ADO, XML parsing using MSXML, Adobe flash, Adobe flex, object-oriented design methodology and database design methodology and Java/J2EE platforms.
Other Requirements: Preferred Candidates should be US Citizens as there is a good possibility of receiving a security clearance associated with this position.
Applicants should also demonstrate good programming design and code documentation during their interview. Portfolios are welcome, and a test of technical knowledge may be given.
