Job Description: The Sr. Manager is also responsible for the annual planning and budgeting of the research program for a Business Unit, and in that capacity acts to ensure that research adds value and is non-redundant across brands.The Sr. Manager also assures the quality and actionability of research by becoming knowledgeable of the Business Unit?s category and brands, to the extent that he/she can judge the value and impact of research programs and offer strategic business insights both at the brand and category level. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESProvides impactful insights that shape brand and business strategy ? Develops intimate understanding of the business and relevant brands, including financials, positioning, marketing programs, distribution, and customers.? Provides direction on marketing strategy development by providing compelling analysis of markets, consumers, customers, shoppers, competitors and products.Provide constant feedback on strategies and tactics through primary research? Defines research programs to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Marketing and Sales strategies and tactics versus those of our competitors.? Develops a program of ongoing tracking of the in-market performance of the business against consumers and professional constituencies. ? Provides challenge to Marketing decisions, by utilizing existing fact base or developing new data to specifically address significant business issues. ? Consistently represents the voice of the consumer/customer/shopper among internal partners to ensure the customer is always top-of-mind.Directs the activity of Market research projects. Oversees Marketing Research Managers, outside contractors and/or Sr. Analysts in the design and execution of original research studies in response to complex, undefined, and critical business issues.? Aligns the activity of market research across brands to address larger strategic objectives for the Business Unit.? Directs the research process to ensure that the work meets the objectives of the client. Assures that research staff maintains quality and technical excellence through careful design, attention to detail, and accurate analysis.
