Job Description:
The NSSC is the primary support command established in Kings Bay, GA to support the battle ready deployment of a fleet of eight TRIDENT Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarines home ported in Kings Bay. If selected for this position, you will act as the primary point of contact for all matters concerning Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Quality Assurance (QA), Unrestricted Operations, and the SubSafe Programs on the eight assigned submarines. You will be performing work that requires a comprehensive knowledge of the nature and operations of submarine repairs and the materials, facilities, and capabilities of the various repair activities available to perform these repairs and alterations. You will be required to understand unique requirements of nuclear powered vessels, SubSafe requirements and Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Quality Assurance and how it relates to the submarines. As the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, you will provide supervision, oversight, and training to all Quality Assurance Officers assigned to Kings Bay home ported submarines. You will give advice, counsel, and instruction to QA Officers on both work and administrative matters and identify developmental and training needs of all QA Officers, as well as arranging and conducting training as needed.
